Epoxy resin adventure… and a boozy transfer! 😅🩹🍹

Hello, dear epoxy enthusiasts and curious souls! 👋
Today I want to share one of those “Do It Yourself” adventures that didn’t quite go as planned… or, well, didn’t go according to any plan at all. If you’ve seen me lately with a bandaged finger, here’s the full story. 🫣

I decided it was time to dive into the enchanting world of epoxy resin and create a chic, ocean-themed side table — with seashells, sand, and all the magical details.
You know the kind — those glossy, glass-like pieces that look like works of art. 🎨✨
I had this dreamy vision of crafting a boutique-style table where I could rest my laptop and sip coffee like an artsy queen. ☕👑

So I watched a few tutorials, bought top-quality materials, and felt like a real artisan. I was ready to pour my creative soul into that resin!

Everything started beautifully — mixing pigments, pouring with care, getting creative… until it was time for the finishing touches and… the scalpel. 😬
One clumsy moment, one sharp move — and BAM! Instead of trimming off excess resin, I gave my finger a deep “etching” of its own. 😓

In an instant, I knew this wasn’t a “kiss-it-better and put on a Band-Aid” situation. Blood was joyfully flowing, and I realized my resin table adventure was now featuring a trip to the ER — at Queen Joanna Hospital (UMHAT Tsaritsa Yoanna – ISUL, to be exact). 🏥

And here’s where it gets even better:
It was Friday night, so I used the “phone a friend” lifeline. My lovely friend? Well… she had just kicked off a “calm” Friday evening with a drink. 🍸
As she drove me to the hospital with a dreamy look in her eyes, she delivered the now-iconic line:
“Such a calm Friday night, huh?” 😅

A huge thank you to her and to the whole ER team at ISUL — they were incredibly fast and professional! 💪
They treated me by the book, and now I’m fine… with a slightly wiser finger (and a slightly slower typing speed). 🖐️⌨️

The lesson?

Epoxy resin is beautiful — but it’s a double-edged sword. Or rather, a single-edged scalpel. 🔪💡
Yes, there will be more resin attempts in my future…
But next time: industrial gloves, safety goggles, and definitely a duller tool for the fine details!
(Though to be honest, even kitchen knives gave me the creeps the next day… 😅)

What about you?
Have your own DIY disasters to share? I’m sure I’m not the only one with an artsy horror story or two! 😄

And now… here’s how the table turned out 👇

I’m the person who had the ‘privilege’ of driving Hristina to the hospital that unforgettable Friday night! 😂 But all jokes aside, I want to share how happy I am that our paths crossed. By enrolling my child in art classes, I discovered not only an exceptional educator for the little one, but also an amazing, talented, and extremely creative person whom I now call a true friend. I’m grateful for every smile and for every adventure (even those that end up in the emergency room)!
